Then we said, “Allah’sApostle had not told us a lie, certainly. Take out the letter, otherwise we will strip you naked.” When she saw that wewere determined, she put her hand below her waist belt, forshe had tied her cloak round her waist, and she took out theletter, and we brought her to Allah’s Apostle Then ‘Umar said,”O Allah’s Apostle! (This Hatib) has betrayed Allah, His Apostleand the believers! Let me cut off his neck!” The Prophet askedHatib, “What made you do this?” Hatib said, “By Allah, I did notintend to give up my belief in Allah and His Apostle but Iwanted to have some influence among the (Mecca) people sothat through it, Allah might protect my family and property. There is none of your companions but has some of his relativesthere through whom Allah protects his family and property.”The Prophet said, “He has spoken the truth; do no say to himbut good.” ‘Umar said, “He as betrayed Allah, His Apostle andthe faithful believers. Let me cut off his neck!” The Prophet said,”Is he not one of the Badr warriors? May be Allah looked at theBadr warriors and said, ‘Do whatever you like, as I havegranted Paradise to you, or said, ‘I have forgiven you.”‘ On this, tears came out of Umar’s eyes, and he said, “Allah and HisApostle know better.”( Volume 5, Book 59, Number 319)
22.Seeing the of events of makkahfrom madinah:Narrated by Abu Huraira (Razi allahu anhu)Allah’s Apostle sent a Sariya of ten men as spies under theleadership of ‘Asim bin Thabit alAnsari, the grandfather of’Asim bin Umar AlKhattab. They proceeded till they reachedHadaa, a place between ‘Usfan, and Mecca, and their newsreached a branch of the tribe of Hudhail called Bani Lihyan.About twohundred men, who were all archers, hurried tofollow their tracks till they found the place where they hadeaten dates they had brought with them from Medina. Theysaid, “These are the dates of Yathrib (i.e. Medina), “andcontinued following their tracks When ‘Asim and hiscompanions saw their pursuers, they went up a high place andthe infidels circled them. The infidels said to them, “Come downand surrender, and we promise and guarantee you that we willnot kill any one of you” ‘Asim bin Thabit; the leader of theSariya said, “By Allah! I will not come down to be under theprotection of infidels. O Allah! Convey our news to YourProphet. Then the infidels threw arrows at them till theymartyred ‘Asim along with six other men, and three men camedown accepting their promise and convention, and they wereKhubaibalAnsari and Ibn Dathina and another man So, whenthe infidels captured them, they undid the strings of their bowsand tied them. Then the third (of the captives) said, “This is thefirst betrayal. By Allah! I will not go with you. No doubt these, namely the martyred, have set a good example to us.” So, theydragged him and tried to compel him to accompany them, butas he refused, they killed him. They took Khubaid and IbnDathina with them and sold them (as slaves) in Mecca (and allthat took place) after the battle of Badr. Khubaib was bought bythe sons of AlHarith bin ‘Amir bin Naufal bin ‘Abd Manaf. Itwas Khubaib who had killed AlHarith bin ‘Amir on the day (ofthe battle of) Badr. So, Khubaib remained a prisoner with thosepeople. Narrated AzZuhri: ‘Ubaidullah bin ‘Iyyad said that thedaughter of AlHarith had told him, “When those peoplegathered (to kill Khubaib) he borrowed a razor from me toshave his pubes and I gave it to him. Then he took a son ofmine while I was unaware when he came upon him. I saw himplacing my son on his thigh and the razor was in his hand. Igot scared so much that Khubaib noticed the agitation on myface and said, ‘Are you afraid that I will kill him? No, I willnever do so.’ By Allah, I never saw a prisoner better thanKhubaib. By Allah, one day I saw him eating of a bunch ofgrapes in his hand while he was chained in irons, and therewas no fruit at that time in Mecca.” The daughter of AlHarithused to say, “It was a boon Allah bestowed upon Khubaib.”When they took him out of the Sanctuary (of Mecca) to kill himoutside its boundaries, Khubaib requested them to let him offertwo Rakat (prayer). They allowed him and he offered TwoRakat and then said, “Hadn’t I been afraid that you would thinkthat I was afraid (of being killed), I would have prolonged theprayer. O Allah, kill them all with no exception.” (He thenrecited the poetic verse): “I being martyred as a Muslim, Donot mind how I am killed in Allah’s Cause, For my killing is forAllah’s Sake, And if Allah wishes, He will bless the amputatedparts of a torn body” Then the son of Al Harith killed him. So, itwas Khubaib who set the tradition for any Muslim sentenced todeath in captivity, to offer a twoRak’at prayer (before beingkilled). Allah fulfilled the invocation of Asim bin Thabit on thatvery day on which he was martyred. The Prophet informed hiscompanions of their news and what had happened to them.Later on when some infidels from Quraish were informed thatAsim had been killed, they sent some people to fetch a part ofhis body (i.e. his head) by which he would be recognized. (Thatwas because) ‘Asim had killed one of their chiefs on the day (ofthe battle) of Badr. Thesign by which they will be recognized is that among them therewill be a black man, one of whose arms will resemble awoman’s breast or a lump of meat moving loosely. Those peoplewill appear when there will be differences amongst the people.”I testify that I heard this narration from Allah’s Apostle and Itestify that ‘Ali bin Abi Talib fought with such people, and I wasin his company. Sosome of them will follow the sun, some will follow the moon, and some will follow other deities; and only this nation(Muslims) will be left with its hypocrites. Allah will come tothem and say, ‘I am Your Lord.’ They will say, ‘We shall stay inthis place till our Lord comes to us and when our Lord willcome, we will recognize Him. Then Allah will come to themagain and say, ‘I am your Lord.’ They will say, ‘You are ourLord.’ Allah will call them, and AsSirat (a bridge) will be laidacross Hell and I (Muhammad) shall be the first amongst theApostles to cross it with my followers. Nobody except theApostles will then be able to speak and they will be saying then,’O Allah! Save us. O Allah Save us.’ There will be hooks like thethorns of Sa’dan in Hell. Have you seen the thorns of Sa’dan?”The people said, “Yes.” He said, “These hooks will be like thethorns of Sa’dan but nobody except Allah knows their greatnessin size and these will entangle the people according to theirdeeds; some of them will fall and stay in Hell forever; otherswill receive punishment (torn into small pieces) and will getout of Hell, till when Allah intends mercy on whomever Helikes amongst the people of Hell, He will order the angels totake out of Hell those who worshipped none but Him alone. The angels will take them out by recognizing them from thetraces of prostrations, for Allah has forbidden the (Hell) fire toeat away those traces. So they will come out of the Fire, it willeat away from the whole of the human body except the marksof the prostrations. At that time they will come out of the Fire asmere skeletons. The Water of Life will be poured on them andas a result they will grow like the seeds growing on the bank offlowing water. Then when Allah had finished from theJudgments amongst his creations, one man will be left betweenHell and paradise and he will be the last man from the peopleof Hell to enter paradise. He will be facing Hell, and will say, ‘OAllah! Turn my face from the fire as its wind has dried me andits steam has burnt me.’ Allah will ask him, “Will you ask foranything more in case this favor is granted to you?’ He will say,”No by Your (Honor) Power!” And he will give to his Lord(Allah) what he will of the pledges and the covenants. Allahwill then turn his face from the Fire. When he will faceparadise and will see its charm, he will remain quiet as long asAllah will. He then will say, ‘O my Lord! Let me go to the gateof paradise.’ Allah will ask him, ‘Didn’t you give pledges andmake covenants (to the effect) that you would not ask foranything more than what you requested at first?’ He will say, ‘Omy Lord! Do not make me the most wretched, amongst Yourcreatures.’ Allah will say, ‘If this request is granted, will youthen ask for anything else?’ He will say, ‘No! By Your Power! Ishall not ask for anything else.’ Then he will give to his Lordwhat He will of the pledges and the covenants. Allah will thenlet him go to the gate ofparadise. On reaching then and seeingits life, charm, and pleasure, he will remain quiet as long asAllah wills and then will say, ‘O my Lord ! Let meenter paradise.’ Allah will say, May Allah be merciful unto you,O son of Adam! How treacherous you are! Haven’t you madecovenants and given pledges that you will not ask for anythingmore that what you have been given?’ He will say, ‘O my Lord!Do not make me the most wretched amongst Your creatures.’So Allah will laugh and allow him to enter paradise and willask him to request as much as he likes. He

They recite Qur’an but it does not gobeyond their throats (i.e. they do not act on it) and they willdesert Islam as an arrow goes through a victim’s body, so thatthe hunter, on looking at the arrow’s blade, would see nothingon it; he would look at its Risaf and see nothing: he would lookat its Na,di and see nothing, and he would look at its Qudhadh (1 ) and see nothing (neither meat nor blood), for the arrow hasbeen too fast even for the blood and excretions to smear. Thesign by which they will be recognized is that among them therewill be a black man, one of whose arms will resemble awoman’s breast or a lump of meat moving loosely. 40.Informing about the last man tojannahNarrated Abu Huraira (Razi Allahu anhu):On the Day of Resurrection, people will be gathered and Hewill order the people to follow what they used to worship. He will do so till all hisdesires have been fulfilled . Then Allah will say, ‘Request moreof such and such things.’ Allah will remind him and when allhis desires and wishes; have been fulfilled, Allah will say “Allthis is granted to you and a similar amount besides.” Abu SaidAlKhudri, said to Abu Huraira, ‘Allah’s Apostle said, “Allahsaid, ‘That is for you and ten times more like it.’ “Abu Hurairasaid, “I do not remember from Allah’s Apostle except (hissaying), ‘All this is granted to you and a similar amountbesides.” Abu Sahd said, “I heard him saying, ‘That is for youand ten times more the like of it.” (Volume :1 ,Book 12, Hadith no770)
